Día de la Persona Negra y la Cultura Afrocostarricense: Day of Black People and Afro-Costa Rican Culture. Flowers of the African Diaspora Festival in Limón. Grand Parade of Limón: The Grand Parade is the culmination of a month in which the people of Limón celebrate the values and tradition of black culture with dances, music, floats and traditional costumes. The Day of Black People and Afro-Costa Rican Culture is held on August 31 of each year. Music, dance, dress and costumes inspired by African roots, full of colors and shapes are part of the way in which the joy of African descent is expressed, “Back to Our Roots”.
