The Gulf of Papagayo Tourist Pole (PTGP), located in the north of the Costa Rican Pacific region, manages an area of scenic wealth, with beaches of light sand, a calm and crystalline, a dry tropical forest on land and diverse ecosystems on the coast and at sea. This, together with its cultural heritage,

provides it with the greatest potential of any tourism region in the Central American isthmus. As a special zone, it is governed by a special regime due to the significance and strategic importance of the project for the country.
