La Cruz is the tenth canton of Guanacaste. The main tourist sites are Santa Rosa National Park, the coastal area of Junquillal, Cuajiniquil, Jobo, Rajada, Salinas and Manzanillo Bay.
The canton is home to coastal communities that make their living from fishing, the rural environments of La Garita and Santa Cecilia, and La Cruz, its central district, with an altitude of 212 meters above sea level and a special view of the sunset.
Road access:
• Via the Carretera Interamericana, 20 kilometers from the Peñas Blancas border crossing on the Nicaraguan border.
• The coastal road, a project on the border with Nicaragua, near San Juan del Sur
• Route 04 North-Atlantic Corridor, linking La Cruz with Upala, San Carlos, Guápiles and Limón.
