Yorquín
Yorquín or Yorkín is the name of a river that originates on the Panamanian side of La Amistad International Park. Going up this river, you will reach the indigenous community of Yorquín, where there are facilities that offer visitors a unique experience that combines the beauty of this river with the knowledge of this exemplary community. Visitors are immersed into a community that grows its own food and trades bananas and cocoa in exchange for other products.
From this community you can visit other places such as: Cerro Buena Vista, hot springs, waterfalls, etc. Yorquín also produces handicrafts that can be purchased as souvenirs of this trip.

Cabécar
It is the second-largest town, with almost 14,000 inhabitants living inside its territory. The Cabécar people have occupied very remote areas on both sides of the Talamanca mountain range.
Due to the remoteness of their territories, they have had a lesser degree of acculturation and the environment in which they live is the least altered. They have thus preserved their language and many of their traditions.
There are 8 Cabécar indigenous territories: on the Pacific side, they are located in the indigenous territory of Ujarrás (in the Canton of Buenos Aires de Puntarenas). On the Atlantic side, they are found in six territories in three blocks: the first comprises the indigenous territories of Chirripó Arriba (in the cantons of Limón Centro and Turrialba), Bajo Chirripó (in the cantons of Turrialba and Matina) and Nairi Awari (in the cantons of Turrialba, Matina and Siquirres); the second block comprises the territories of Tayní (cantons of Limón Centro and Talamanca); and the third block comprises the Talamanca Cabécar territory (in the canton of Talamanca).
