Playa Cocles (Pirikiki)
This beach is enormous in both size and beauty. It is one of the must-see destinations when traveling to Limón. It has few stones, and the white sand blends with the turquoise color of the water, giving a tinge of paradise and a magical tone to the place. In summer (February, March, September and October) the sea is relatively calm and you can go for a swim. In winter (November to January and April to August), the waves grow and it becomes a regular surf spot. You can also relax on the sand and sunbathe.

Playa Chiquita
A narrow, overgrown trail will take you to Chiquita. It’s a white sand beach, few stones, intermediate swell, crystal clear water and trees that provide shade on the shore. It is located very close to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, in the province of Limón. Beachgoers can rest in the small pools that are created between the stones when the tide rises. You can also relax under the shade of the trees that are right next to the coast. Playa Chiquita is a private and quiet place.

Playa Punta Uva
You might have heard it mentioned – if not, now you have! If you go to Limon, you have to visit Playa Punta Uva. The white sand blends with the turquoise water and the trees that lie over the sea, turning the site into a small paradise. The dense vegetation gives an exotic tone to this incredible place. It is a beach with few stones and a swell that varies from season to season (summer or winter). Punta Uva is perfect for sunbathing or resting under the shade of the trees.

Playa Manzanillo
To access this gray sand beach that belongs to the Gandoca- Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, you have to cross a remote jungle trail several kilometers from Gandoca Beach and then cross an estuary. Ned Creek is an untouched site, with a strong swell and few stones, where tropical vegetation reigns. On the way to the beach, you will find an estuary. Remember that the entrance to this beach is different from the one that allows you to access Manzanillo beach, a place of great beauty located a few kilometers from Puerto Viejo.
