 Rural Tourism
 Emblematic towns
A warm and sincere welcome, authentic adventures, cultural exchange, affordable prices, the opportunity to explore unspoiled wilderness in the company of local guides, the chance to be part of conservation efforts, the satisfaction that your vacation benefits the community by generating valuable income and fostering traditional culture.
In the Northern Caribbean region, the communities of Tortuguero, Parismina and Limón are hotspots for this kind of tourism. The towns of Cahuita and Puerto Viejo are located in the southern Caribbean region and offer hotels, restaurants, sodas, tourist information offices, and complementary businesses. In Cahuita, located at the entrance of Cahuita National Park, the tourism businesses serve the demand for tourism services related to the park. For its part, Puerto Viejo is a well-established tourist destination for the domestic tourism market, offering an interesting combination of Afro-Caribbean culture, cuisine, nature and culture. The town is a surf spot with excellent tourism facilities, providing the perfect combination that makes it one of the preferred destinations in the Caribbean.
The area’s biodiversity of flora and fauna and its great cultural richness provide visitors with a wealth of options they can access through rural tourism lodges. These are found in communities such as: Hone Creek, Punta Riel, La Fe, Carbón I, Carbón II, Comadre, Puerto Vargas, Bordón, Bocuare, Kekoldi, Puerto Viejo and Sixaola, as well as Bribri, Mastatal, Shiroles, Amubri, Yorkin, Cachabri, and more.
